К ветеранам Вооруженных Сил относятся военнослужащие Вооруженных Сил, войск и органов государственной безопасности, внутренних и железнодорожных войск, других воинских формирований (далее - военнослужащие), лица начальствующего и рядового состава органов внутренних дел, имеющие право на пенсию за выслугу лет, в том числе уволенные в запас (отставку), а также ставшие инвалидами вследствие ранения, контузии, увечья или заболевания, полученных в связи с исполнением обязанностей военной службы.
