Обязательное медицинское страхование - это вид социальной защиты, представляющий собой систему создаваемых государством правовых, экономических и организационных мер, направленных на обеспечение, при наступлении страхового случая, гарантии оказания застрахованному лицу медицинской помощи за счет средств обязательного медицинского страхования в пределах Программы государственных гарантий.
