Гражданская защита организуется в целях защиты населения и объектов экономики от последствий аварий, катастроф, стихийных бедствий, а также от воздействия средств поражения при ведении боевых действий. Задачи и организация гражданской защиты определяются законодательством Кыргызской Республики. (В редакции Закона КР от 3 февраля 2014 года № 24)
