Настоящий Закон определяет порядок организации деятельности прокуратуры Кыргызской Республики, правовые акты, полномочия органов прокуратуры, особенности организации деятельности военной прокуратуры, специализированных органов прокуратуры, основные меры правовой и социальной защиты прокуроров и следователей, а также порядок прохождения службы в органах прокуратуры.
