Возраст и оборот рубок леса определяются исходя из основного целевого назначения лесов и выполняемых ими функций, продуктивности насаждений и биологических особенностей произрастающих древесных пород, а также сроков восстановления леса на вырубках. Обоснование возрастов и оборотов рубок производится при лесоустройстве или специальных научных исследованиях. Установление возрастов и оборотов рубок леса осуществляется в порядке, определяемом республиканским государственным органом управления лесным хозяйством.
